DSHS TIES FOR SEVENTH IN UIL LONE STAR CUP

Dripping Springs High School finished in a tie for seventh place with 74 points in the 2020-21 UIL Lone Star Cup standings in Conference 5A. The final standings will become official on July 1. The DSHS point total was just two points out of fifth place, a spot shared by Cedar Park High School and Lucas Lovejoy High School with 76 point each; the Tigers were tied with Frisco Wakeland High School in seventh.

The Tigers recorded another successful year, highlighted by the girls’ soccer team winning the state championship. Volleyball advanced to the state semifinals and girls’ cross country captured a fourth-place finish at the state meet.

Football, team tennis, boys’ basketball, boys’ soccer, softball and baseball were also post-season qualifiers.

The Lone Star Cup awards points based on a school's team performance in district and state championships in the following: team tennis, cross country, marching band, volleyball, robotics BEST, football, Congress, spirit, swimming and diving, wrestling, mariachi, film, basketball, robotics FIRST, soccer, academics, one-act play, theatrical design, track and field, golf, tennis, softball, and baseball.

Point totals for DSHS were as follows: team tennis (4), girls’ cross country (4), volleyball (12), football (4), marching band (4 – from 2019 since state competition is held every two years), boys’ basketball (4), boys’ soccer (10), girls’ soccer (18), softball (4) and baseball (10).

The seventh-place Lone Star Cup finish ties for the fifth-highest in school history. It is the fourth straight year DSHS has finished in the top 10 (excluding the 2019-20 school year, which was not awarded).

DSHS EMPATA EN SÉPTIMO LUGAR EN LA COPA UIL LONE STAR

La preparatoria Dripping Springs High School empató en séptimo lugar con 74 puntos en la clasificación de la Copa Lone Star UIL 2020-21 en la Conferencia 5A. La clasificación final se hará oficial el 1º de julio. DSHS terminó tan sólo dos puntos del quinto lugar, un lugar compartido por Cedar Park High School y Lucas Lovejoy High School con 76 puntos cada prepa; los Tigres empataron con Frisco Wakeland High School en el séptimo lugar.

Los Tigres registraron otro año triunfal, destacado por el equipo de fútbol soccer femenino que ganó el campeonato estatal. Vóleibol avanzó a las semifinales estatales y el equipo femenino de campo traviesa capturó un cuarto lugar en la competencia estatal.

También calificaron como postemporada el equipo de fútbol, tenis en equipo, baloncesto masculino, fútbol soccer masculino, softbol y béisbol.

La copa Lone Star UIL otorga puntos basados ​​en el desempeño del equipo de una escuela en campeonatos distritales y estatales en lo siguiente: tenis en equipo, campo traviesa, banda de música, voleibol, robótica BEST, fútbol, ​​congreso, espíritu, natación y clavado, lucha, mariachi, cinematografía, baloncesto, robótica FIRST, fútbol soccer, logro​ académico, teatro de un solo acto, diseño teatral, atletismo, golf, tenis, softbol y béisbol.

El séptimo lugar en la Copa Lone Star empata al quinto lugar más alto en la historia de la escuela. Es el cuarto año consecutivo que DSHS termina entre los 10 primeros lugares (excluyendo el año escolar 2019-20, que no fue otorgado).
