TECH THEATRE STUDENTS PLACE AT STATE

Of the six Dripping Springs High School students who qualified for state UIL Theatrical Design Competition, all placed among the top six in the state. DSHS was represented by two individual students and one group entering their designs among more than 700 entries submitted in various categories.

The theme for the competition was "Life is a Dream." DSHS students competed in Division II, which included schools from 4A, 5A and 6A. Individually, Maddie Wade placed third in the state in Costume Design and Ayden Luther was sixth in Scenic Design. In the Group Design category, considered one of the most difficult, the DSHS group placed third. The group consisted of: Grace Maddux (Group Scenic Design), Markus Meinecke (Group Publicity Design), Lily Stone (Group Costume Design), and Arwen Kubicek (Group Hair/Makeup Design).

The digital award ceremony is available on the UIL website. This was the first year that DSHS entered the UIL technical theatre competition.

ALUMNOS DE TECNOLOGÍA TEATRAL SALEN ENTRE LOS SEIS PRIMEROS LUGARES EN LA COMPETENCIA UIL ESTATAL

Los seis alumnos de la preparatoria Dripping Springs High School que calificaron para la competencia estatal de diseño teatral UIL se ubicaron entre los seis mejores del estado. DSHS estuvo representado por dos alumnos individuales y un grupo que ingresaron sus diseños entre más de 700 entradas presentadas en varias categorías.

El tema de la competencia fue "La vida es un sueño." Los alumnos de DSHS compitieron en la División II, que incluía escuelas 4A, 5A y 6A. Individualmente, Maddie Wade ocupó el tercer lugar en el estado en diseño de vestuario y Ayden Luther salió en sexto lugar en diseño escénico. En la categoría diseño de grupo, considerado uno de los más difíciles, el grupo DSHS quedó en tercer lugar. Formaron parte del grupo: Grace Maddux (diseño escénico grupal), Markus Meinecke (diseño publicitario grupal), Lily Stone (diseño grupal de vestuario) y Arwen Kubicek (diseño grupal de cabello y maquillaje).
