DSHS STUDENTS PLACE IN "LETTERS ABOUT LITERATURE" CONTEST

Dripping Springs High School juniors Gabrielle Avena (First Place) and Ella Johnson (Second Place) won top honors in the high school category of the 2020 Letters About Literature Texas competition presented by the Texas State Library and Archives Commission.

Gabrielle finished first with her letter to Hanya Yanagihara and Ella placed second with her letter to Gail Carson Levine. The Texas Center for the Book received 1,317 letters this year from Texas students sharing their personal connections to literature. A total of 234 advanced to the third round of judging in Texas. Judges scored the letters based on organization, idea development, language, and emotional connection. ESTUDIANTES DE DSHS CONCURSAN EN "CARTAS SOBRE LITERATURA"

Gabrielle Avena (primer lugar) y Ella Johnson (segundo lugar), alumnas de tercer año de Dripping Springs High School, ganaron máximos honores en la categoría de escuelas preparatorias en la competencia Texas Letters About Literature 2020 (cartas sobre literatura de Texas) presentada por la Comisión de Archivos y Bibliotecas del Estado de Texas.

Gabrielle terminó en primer lugar con su carta a Hanya Yanagihara y Ella salió en segundo lugar con su carta a Gail Carson Levine.
