MIDDLE SCHOOL UIL ACADEMIC DISTRICT RESULTS
Sycamore Springs Middle School hosted the seven-team UIL Academic District Competition March 7 and several DSISD students recorded top finishes. Combined, students from Dripping Springs Middle School and Sycamore Springs Middle School won nine events, placed second in 11, and finished third in three. In addition, 27 students placed fourth, fifth, or sixth in their categories. Winning their respective events were the following students: Sophia Brink (SSMS), Sixth-Grade Art 3D Shelby Cluck (DSMS), Sixth-Grade Art Painting Emily Gaines (DSMS), Eighth-Grade Editorial Writing Stephanie Gearing (SSMS), Sixth-Grade Listening Skills and Sixth-Grade Science (tie) Lynnea Mahoney (DSMS), Seventh-Grade Art 3D Haley Hallberg (SSMS), Eighth-Grade Art Painting Jillian Muckelroy (DSMS), Eighth-Grade Art Miscellaneous Gwynna Swor (DSMS), Seventh-Grade Science Second-place finishes were turned in by: Lydia Bradley (SSMS), Seventh-Grade Modern Oratory Laurel Carley (SSMS), Sixth-Grade Art Miscellaneous Hannah Collins (SSMS), Eighth-Grade Art Painting Katelyn Davis (DSMS), Eighth-Grade Oral Reading Michael Gearing (SSMS), Seventh-Grade Science Grant Gillum (DSMS), Sixth-Grade Modern Oratory Shiloh Satterfield (DSMS), Seventh-Grade Impromptu Speaking Eban Sebastian (SSMS), Seventh-Grade Dictionary Skills and Seventh-Grade Oral Reading Audrey Staker (SSMS), Seventh-Grade Art 3D Hanna Stalvery (DSMS), Sixth-Grade Editorial Writing Placing third were Caleb Collins (SSMS) in Sixth-Grade Oral Reading, Colter Maebius (DSMS) in Eighth-Grade Art 3D, and Jake Stockton (DSMS) in Sixth-Grade Calculator Applications. In addition to the two DSISD schools, two middle schools from Eanes ISD and three from Lake Travis participated in the competition, which was won by West Ridge Middle School (EISD). Sycamore Springs MS and Dripping Springs Middle School placed sixth and seventh, respectively. At the middle-school level, the district competition is the final of the year for students.
RESULTADOS DE SECUNDARIA DE LA COMPETENCIA UIL ACADÉMICA DE DISTRITO
La secundaria Sycamore Springs Middle School organizó la competencia UIL Académica a nivel distrito con siete equipos el 7 de marzo y varios alumnos de DSISD obtuvieron altos resultados.
En combinación, los alumnos de las dos secundarias Dripping Springs Middle School y Sycamore Springs Middle School ganaron nueve eventos, quedaron en segundo lugar en 11, y terminaron en tercer lugar en tres. Además, 27 alumnos colocaron cuarto, quinto o sexto en sus categorÃas.

En tercer lugar, Caleb Collins (SSMS) en lectura oral de sexto grado, Colter Maebius (DSMS) en arte 3D de octavo grado, y Jake Stockton (DSMS) en aplicaciones de calculadora de sexto grado.
Además de las dos escuelas de DSISD, dos escuelas intermedias de Eanes ISD y tres de Lake Travis participaron en la competencia, la escuela ganadora fue West Ridge Middle School (EISD). Sycamore Springs MS y Dripping Springs MS salieron en sexto y séptimo lugar, respectivamente. A nivel de escuela intermedia, la competencia de distrito es la final del año para los alumnos.
