Hi-STEPPERS SUCCESSFUL AT TEXAS SHOWMAKERS COMPETITION
The Dripping Springs High School Hi-Steppers competed at the Texas State Dance and Drill Team Championship sponsored by Show Makers of America Feb. 29. Competing against various drill teams from around central/south Texas, the Hi-Steppers won several team and officer awards.
DSHS claimed three Best in Category Awards: the officers won in Large Team Modern and Hip Hop, while the team was the Large Team Hip Hop category winner.
The officers also captured several other honors: Officer Sweepstakes and Judges Award, Officer Judges Award, three Officer Showmanship Awards, three Officer Choreography Awards, Officer Technique Award, and Officer Precision Award. The officers also placed third in both Contemporary and in the overall Class.
As a team (Large Team category), the Hi-Steppers won Team Sweepstakes and Judges Award, three Team Showmanship Awards, three Team Choreography Awards, a Team Technique Award,. The squad placed third in Lyrical Jazz, and in the overall Class.
Hi-STEPPERS TRIUNFA EN LA COMPETENCIA SHOW MAKERS DE TEXAS
El grupo Hi-Steppers de la preparatoria Dripping Springs High School compitieron en el campeonato estatal de danza y ejercicio de Texas patrocinado por Show Makers of America el 29 de febrero. Compitiendo contra varios equipos de ejercicios de todo el centro y sur de Texas, Hi-Steppers ganaron varios premios de equipo y oficiales.
DSHS se llevó tres premios al mejor de su categoría: los oficiales ganaron en la categoría de equipo moderno grande y Hip Hop, mientras que el equipo ganó en la categoría equipo grande de Hip Hop.
Los oficiales también capturaron varios otros honores: sorteo de oficiales y premio de jueces, premio de jueces de oficiales, tres premios de maestría escénica de oficiales, tres premios de coreografía de oficiales, premio de técnica de oficiales, y premio de precisión de oficiales. Los oficiales también salieron en tercer lugar tanto en clase contemporánea como en la clase general.
Como equipo (categoría de equipo grande), el grupo Hi-Steppers ganó el premio de sorteo de equipo y de jueces, tres premios en maestría escénica de equipo, tres premios de coreografía de equipo, y el premio técnica de equipo. La escuadra salió en tercer lugar en Jazz lírico, y en la clase general.
