UIL ANNOUNCES DISTRICT REALIGNMENTS FOR 2020-21 AND 2021-22


The University Interscholastic League (UIL) has announced district realignments for the 2020-21 and 2021-22 school years. For football, Dripping Springs High School will participate in District 12-5A Division I along with Buda Johnson HS, Comal Canyon HS Lake, Kyle Lehman HS, San Antonio Veterans Memorial HS, San Antonio Harlandale HS, San Antonio McCollum HS, and Seguin HS. The district is slotted in Region 3 of 5A-Division I. For basketball and volleyball competition, DSHS was placed in District 26-5A along with Boerne Champion HS, Buda Johnson HS, Comal Canyon Lake HS, Kerrville Tivy HS, Kyle Lehman HS, San Antonio Alamo Heights HS, San Antonio Veterans Memorial HS, and Seguin HS. Those sports compete in Region 4.

It was announced in December that DSHS will remain in Conference 5A for at least the next two years. DSHS's submitted enrollment of 2,144 students was below the cut-off for Conference 6A (2,220) by 76 students. DSHS is the third-largest school in each of the newly released district realignments, behind Buda Johnson HS (2,176) and Kyle Lehman HS (2,173).

According to the UIL, the remaining athletic district alignments for other sports will be released no later than March 16, 2020, with the academic alignments to follow.

La "Liga Universitaria Interescolar" (UIL) ha anunciado algunos realineamientos de distrito para los años escolares 2020-21 y 2021-22. Para fútbol americano, la preparatoria Dripping Springs High School participará en el Distrito 12-5A División I, junto con Buda Johnson HS, Comal Canyon HS Lake, Kyle Lehman HS, San Antonio Veterans Memorial HS, San Antonio Harlandale HS, San Antonio McCollum HS y Seguin HS. El distrito se ubica en la Región 3 de 5A-División I. Para las competencias de baloncesto y vóleibol, colocaron a DSHS en el Distrito 26-5A junto con Boerne Champion HS, Buda Johnson HS, Comal Canyon Lake HS, Kerrville Tivy HS, Kyle Lehman HS, San Antonio Alamo Heights HS, San Antonio Veterans Memorial HS y Seguin HS.
