DSISD'S PARENT UNIVERSITY SERIES BEGINS AT SSE
The DSISD Parent University speaker series is kicking off on Thursday, Sept. 26, at the Sycamore Springs Elementary Cafeteria. Guest speaker Karen Kinsel Silcox, Ph.D. will present "Raising Brave Children - How to Help Your Child Cope with Stress and Anxiety." The presentation begins at 6:30 p.m., and pizza will be served (first-come, first-served) beginning at 6:00 p.m.
Silcox's presentation will give parents tips and strategies as they support their child's social/emotional needs as well as their own. The presentation is applicable for parents with students of any age.
The Parent University series is led by DSISD's elementary counselors who received a grant from the Dripping Springs Education Foundation to fund the program. The speaker series will make its way to the other three DSISD elementary campuses later in the year.

LA PRIMERA PRESENTACIÓN DE LA SERIE UNIVERSIDAD PARA PADRES DE FAMILIA DE DSISD SERÁ EN SSES
La serie de presentadores de DSISD Parent University comenzará el jueves 26 de septiembre en la cafetería de la primaria Sycamore Springs Elementary. La oradora invitada Karen Kinsel Silcox, PhD, presentará "Criando a niños valientes: cómo ayudar a su hijo/a a sobrellevar el estrés y la ansiedad." La presentación comienza a las 6:30 p.m. y se servirá pizza (por orden de llegada) a partir de las 6:00 p.m.
La serie de Universidad para Padres de Familia será dirigida por los asesores de edad primaria de DSISD, quienes recibieron una subvención de la fundación Dripping Springs Education Foundation para financiar el programa. La universidad para padres de familia hará presentaciones en las otras tres primarias de DSISD más adelante durante el año.
La presentación de Silcox dará a los padres de familia consejos y estrategias a medida que apoyan las necesidades sociales/emocionales tanto de sus hijos, como las de ellos mismos. La presentación es aplicable para padres con alumnos de cualquier edad.
