DSHS WINS UIL ACADEMIC AND DEBATE DISTRICT CHAMPIONSHIPS
Dripping Springs High School claimed the District 25-5A UIL Academic Championship following stellar performances on March 30. First-place teams, as well as individuals who placed first through third, advance to the UIL Academic Region Meet on April 12-13 at UT-San Antonio. Congratulations to the following students:

DSHS Facilitator for Learning and Innovation Karen Tiller is the faculty sponsor and coaches two events, while several other teachers assist with event coaching: Brenna Albracht, Chrissy Hinkle, Jad Jadeja, Kara Kothmann, Alicia McWilliams, Todd Raimond, and Jennifer Riddlebarger.
DSHS also claimed the Team Debate championship after performing well in the six speech/debate events: Lincoln-Douglas Debate, Persuasive Extemporaneous Speaking, Informative Extemporaneous Speaking, Prose Interpretation, Poetry Interpretation, and Cross-Examination Debate (took place on Feb. 5).

DSHS GANA CAMPEONATOS UIL ACAD'EMICOS Y DE DEBATE A NIVEL DISTRITO
La preparatoria Dripping Springs High School reclamó el campeonato académico UIL de distrito 25-5A con presentaciones estelares el 30 de marzo. Los equipos que salieron en primer lugar, al igual que alumnos individuales que terminaron de primer a tercer lugar, avanzan al encuentro UIL académico regional. Felicidades a los alumnos que aparecen en las listas de arriba:
Karen Tiller, facilitadora de aprendizaje e innovación en DSHS, es la patrocinadora por parte del personal para el evento y entrenadora para dos eventos. Los siguientes maestros también asisten como entrenadores en los eventos: Brenna Albracht, Chrissy Hinkle, Jad Jadeja, Kara Kothmann, Alicia McWilliams, Todd Raimond, y Jennifer Riddlebarger.
DSHS también reclamó el campeonato UIL de debate en equipo a nivel distrito 25-5A con presentaciones estelares en seis de los eventos el 30 de marzo. Los eventos son: Debate Lincoln-Douglas, Persuasive Extemporaneous Speaking (oratoria persuasiva extemporánea), Informative Extemporaneous Speaking (oratoria informativa extemporánea), Prose Interpretation (interpretación en prosa), Poetry Interpretation (interpretación poética), y Cross-Examination Debate (debate de contrainterrogatorio) que tuvo lugar el 5 de febrero.
Davy Holmes y Sara-Jane Shepperd dirige el programa de debate en DSHS.
