JUNIOR WINS STATEWIDE DESIGN CONTEST


Dripping Springs High School junior Melissa Richardson was announced as the winner in a statewide logo design contest at the Feb. 1 State Board of Education (SBOE) meeting. Melissa was awarded a $3,000 cash prize and her logo will be used by the State Board of Education on future materials representing the Permanent School Fund.

The contest, where students were tasked with creating a logo for the state's Permanent School Fund (PSF), had been narrowed to two finalists. A total of 521 entries from high schoolers around Texas were submitted.

Superintendent Bruce Gearing, DSHS Principal Joe Burns, and Visual Arts teacher Jay Bates attended the meeting where the winning design was announced.

ALUMNA DE DSHS GANA CONCURSO ESTATAL DE DISEÑO

Melissa Richardson, alumna de tercer año de la preparatoria Dripping Springs High School fue anunciada el 1º de febrero como la ganadora del concurso estatal de diseño de logotipo en la junta de la mesa estatal educativa (SBOE - State Board of Education). Melissa fue otorgada un premio en efectivo de $3,000 y su logotipo será utilizado por la SBOE en materiales futuros representando el fondo escolar permanente.

El concurso, donde los alumnos fueron presentados con la tarea de crear un logotipo para el fondo escolar permanente (PSF) del estado, había sido reducido a dos finalistas. Un total de 521 diseños fueron presentados por estudiantes de preparatoria a través de Texas.

El Superintendente Bruce Gearing, el director de DSHS Principal Joe Burns, y Jay Bates, maestro de artes visuales, asistieron a la junta donde fueron anunciados los diseños ganadores.
