PREWIT IS PLAYER OF WEEK

Tiger quarterback Tanner Prewit was recognized by the Austin American Statesman as the Player of the Week following his starting debut against Kerrville Tivy High School August 31. Prewit, a senior, passed for 273 yards and rushed for 183 yards, accounting for 456 of total offense and leading the Tigers to a 48-35 victory. He also accounted for five of the six touchdowns, including a 75-yard TD throw to sophomore Cameron O'Banan.

Prewit is also one of seven Central Texas football players in the running for the first Texas Orthopedics Student Athlete of the Week. Voting is open until Tuesday at noon at http://www.fanstandatx.com.
