DSISD STUDENTS AT MATH PENTATHLON
Numerous Dripping Springs ISD students competed in annual Math Pentathlon competitions over the past month, and many received special honors. Math Pentathlon is a time-tested program of interactive problem-solving games, supportive curricular and instructional activities, and assessment tools for students in Grades K-7 that is administered by the Pentathlon Institute, a non-profit educational organization. Competitions are divided into three elementary divisions: Division I for Kindergarten and first-grade students, Division II for second- and third-grade students, Division III for fourth- and fifth-grade students, and Division IV is for sixth- and seventh-grade students. The events were held on four Saturdays in April and May, depending on division.
More 100 students from DSISD’s four elementary schools (Dripping Springs Elementary, Rooster Springs Elementary, Sycamore Springs Elementary, Walnut Springs Elementary) and Sycamore Springs Middle School competed in the events, and 48 were honored with special recognitions. Four students received Hall of Fame Gold recognition, six earned Gold Medals, eight received Silver Medals, 14 received Bronze Medals, and 16 students earned Honorable Mention.
Earning the highest honor – Hall of Fame Gold – were Connor Caffrey (fifth grade, RSE), Audrey Funk (third grade, RSE), Eben Sebastian (fifth grade, RSE), and Benjamin Seshan (third grade, RSE). For Benjamin, it was the second consecutive year he has received the Hall of Fame distinction.
Earning Gold Medals were: Cooper Calvert (third grade, SSE), Conlan Fout (fifth grade, WSE), Liam Ianiro (fourth grade, RSE), Tyler Krajecki (first grade, SSE), Shaun Kurian (seventh grade, SSMS), and Megan LaRochelle (fifth grade, RSE).
Earning Silver Medals were: Kieran Fox (second grade, RSE), Grant Funk (fifth grade, RSE), Grant Gillum (fourth grade, WSE), Tyler Hamblin (fifth grade, DSE), Jake Maring (first grade, RSE), Emma Montgomery (third grade, DSE), Ryleigh Neff (third grade, SSE), Colin Santangelo (first grade, SSE), and Jaiden Stankard (sixth grade, SSMS).

ALUMNOS DE DSISD EN EL PENTATLÓN DE MATEMÁTICAS
Numerosos alumnos de Dripping Springs ISD compitieron en el pentatlón de matemáticas anual los últimos meses, y varios han recibido honores. El pentatlón de matemáticas es un programa de juegos interactivos para resolver problemas, apoyar actividades de currículo e instrucción, y herramientas de evaluación para estudiantes de grados Kínder a séptimo administrado por el Instituto Pentathlon, una organización educacional sin fines de lucro. Las competencias están formadas de tres divisiones de primaria: División I para alumnos de Kínder y primer grado, División II para alumnos de segundo y tercer grado, y División III para alumnos de cuarto y quinto grado, y la División IV es para alumnos de sexto y séptimo grado.
