MIDDLE SCHOOL SCIENCE FAIR RESULTS
Ten middle school projects that placed first, second or third at the recent DSISD Science Fair will advance to regional competition. The Austin Energy Regional Science Festival will be held at Palmer Events Center Feb. 21-24, 2018.
First-place projects were Karsten Bobb's "Preventing Coral Bleaching," Brant Melton's "Perception Makes Perfection," and Hayden Dunn and Jaden Batte's "Lowering the Speed of Light." All three projects were completed by Dripping Springs Middle School students.
Placing second were: Kate Ginther, DSMS, "The Effects of Stressing Plants" Maddie Johnson, SSMS, "Which Wick" Weston Kirk, DSMS, "Natural Filtration" Emma Maebius, DSMS, "Evaluating Noctoc Commune as an Alternative to Nitrogen Fertilizer" Trevor Thrasher and Aidan Johannsen, DSMS, "Radical Reactions"
Placing third were: Kaylie Tipton, Kylie Tipton and Sara Dunn, DSMS, "Rethink Your Drink" Gracie West, DSMS, "Ready, Set, Rust"
RESULTADOS DE LA FERIA DE CIENCIAS DE SECUNDARIA
Diez proyectos de secundaria que lograron primero, segundo, y tercer lugar en la reciente feria de ciencias DSISD avanzan a la competencia regional. El festival regional de ciencias de Austin Energy tomará lugar del 21 al 24 de febrero, 2018.
Los temas de los proyectos en primer lugar y sus creadores fueron:
La prevención del blanqueamiento del coral de Karsten Bobb,
La percepción hace la perfección de Brant Melton, y
Disminuyendo la velocidad de la luz de Hayden Dunn y Jaden Batte.
Los tres en primer lugar fueron completados por alumnos de Dripping Springs Middle School.
En segundo lugar: Kate Ginther, DSMS, con los efectos de estresar las plantas, Maddie Johnson, SSMS, con cuál mecha, Weston Kirk, DSMS, con filtración natural, Emma Maebius, DSMS, con el tema evaluando Noctoc Commune como alternativa al fertilizante de nitrógeno, y Trevor Thrasher y Aidan Johannsen, DSMS, con reacciones radicales
