DSHS CHEER QUALIFIES FOR UIL SPIRIT CHAMPIONSHIP FINALS; PLACES 20TH

The Dripping Springs High School cheerleading squad competed at the 2020 UIL Spirit Championships on Friday, Jan. 17 in Fort Worth. At the championships, 63 schools competed in three categories for the 5A-Division I championship: crowd leading, fight song, and band dance. Following the preliminary round Dripping Springs was one of 20 teams to advance to the finals round. During the preliminary round DSHS had the ninth-best "fight song" score and the 18th-best "crowd leading" score. Following the final round, DSHS was judged as the 20th-best cheer squad in 5A-Division I.

The DSHS cheerleading squad's appearance in the final round is the best finish for the team in the three years it has competed in the UIL Spirit Championships.

El equipo de porristas de la preparatoria Dripping Springs High School compitió en el Spirit Championships (campeonato de espíritu) UIL 2020 el viernes 17 de enero en Fort Worth. Compitieron 63 escuelas en tres categorías para el campeonato 5A-División I: liderazgo del público, canción de batalla, y baile de la banda. Después de la ronda preliminar, Dripping Springs High School fue uno de los 20 equipos que avanzaron a la ronda final. Durante la ronda preliminar, DSHS obtuvo el noveno lugar en la "canción de batalla" y el décimo octavo en “liderazgo del público”. Después de la ronda final, DSHS fue juzgado como el vigésimo mejor equipo de animadores en la 5A división I.

La aparición del equipo de porristas animadoras de la preparatoria DSHS en la ronda final marca el mejor puntaje final para el equipo en los tres años que ha competido en el campeonato de espíritu UIL.
